Nearing the end
“How has this course changed your outlook on learning? What’s changed? Why?”
This course has taught me how to approach problems in a new way and to think differently. I’ve learned to break down big issues into smaller ones and start building from there. Programming is like solving puzzles, and the only way you can solve the puzzles in programming is by understanding the big picture, thinking through it one step at a time, and always looking for ways to make it better.
“When frustration comes up how do you be with it? What’s your course of action?”
Often times I have found that it helps to take a break. I will log off my computer for some time, and do something else to clear my mind. When I go back to my computer I find myself with many new ideas to try to solve the issues I am having. Sometimes those ideas work, and other times it’s not as simple but it helps a lot to take breaks and not get so overwhelmed.
“Why should we teach to the whole person rather than to just a skill set? What benefits are there to this method?”
Teaching the whole person rather than just a skill set will create a greater possibility of success for the individual.
“How do you feel about your upcoming project? What do you anticipate while working with a classmate?”
I feel prepared for this next project. I will be applying many of the techniques I have learned throughout this course and I am excited for that. I will be working alone on this project.
“What benefits will there be to working with someone else?”
In my case I will be working alone. With my full-time work schedule, it could be difficult to collaborate with someone else therefore I decided to work on this project just myself. However, there are many benefits with working with a partner or in a group. You can bounce ideas around and learn things from other people too.
“What challenges could come up with this partnership?”
Obviously, when working in a team having good communication is key to making things go according to plan. It’s good to set up a plan, deadlines, and to delegate tasks from the start.
